Women want what? Most of us want autonomy. And respect. And equity. I don't want to be a man. I'm sure i dont want equality if that forces me to be like men. I want to be paid for the work I do or at least have it recognized as such. Laundry, dishes, all of the unpaid labor of married life is exactly that. Unpaid and expected. You know my story. I left a marriage of 28 years with debt I'll never pay off thanks to his education that never paid me a penny. I want the ability to be autonomous. But that would require spousal support and alimony. But those don't exist here...and certainly not for me. I deserve that and everything in my body...and other women's bodies...tells us so. So men, get in line or get out of the way, I guess. You've done very little else than get in the way for a long time.
I am sad about the collective pain that these transitions require. And that you have been caught in the crossfire. You are a good man, Thomas.
