Will My Generation of Women Really No Longer Take Responsibility?

I’m not so sure…

As I read Yael Wolfe’s amazing feminist treatise yesterday, my brain was awash in memories, some from not so long ago. One from just that morning. One from the weekend before. Each is from a different generation of women. Let me tell you about them.

BTW, her article is top-notch as always. Here it is:

Let’s start here first.

She and I both are of the same generation of women. As Gen X women we have been forced to reconcile to the norms of our parents or break cycles. And she is determined to break them. Yael is one of my heroes.

Her article is amazing and states all of the ways (and more) that I have enabled and made accommodations for men (and the society that formed them) in my life. Her article made very clear to me that I am still making excuses for men’s lack of consciousness around their decisions in relationships as well as their decisions in court rooms and voting booths.
