We do because we were trained to do so. That simple. I was taught to be the support behind him when he faltered. I was taught that I would never have a career other than raising children and caring for my home. Of course, that is not what I really wanted, but what I wanted did not matter. And I learned that from birth. Women who worked had husbands who didn’t work hard enough. Women who worked were part of a family that wasn’t as obedient as the other, more successful ones. Prosperity gospel was alive and well when I was a child. I am happy to hear you have no cycles to break, for they have never been intact in your life! That’s awesome for you and your kids!
