Thanks for this. This very topic was one that I was discussing with the man I am dating right now. My children are older-at least older teenagers- and his are still young. His are easy to win over, play with, discipline and enjoy. Mine...well...they need time and lots of space. I feel strongly that they deserve to see their mom happy. The marriage I finally got out of was not that, at all. But, they remain skeptical and distant, to some extent. Over time, things are getting better, but it has been really challenging. I am grateful for their loyalty and love, however. They are honest and so good for me, reminding me often of what I deserve and what I should and should not tolerate. Of course, they are still children, but this gives me confidence that this will all work out in the end. Thanks again!
