The Collapse, three days after.

Three days passed with no additional stress. The court date was rescheduled to August 2nd, as I had expected. This would give their side plenty of time to get all kinds of strategies in line to ruin my life. Smart and evil men, then are.

On Thursday, everything changed. The lawyer called before his office hours, stating he was sorry, yet again. But, he had gotten an email from my ex’s lawyer, copying my accountant, that they were freezing my taxes unless I filed jointly. Jointly saved him a lot of money. I would likely get the same amount back either way, but it served my ex in a big way. The thing about it was, was that we had already tried to negotiate with them, weeks before. And they did not even acknowledge our offer.

To file jointly means that he cared for our family, paying his part, for the year. And during the year of 2020, I got a total of 6 weeks of child support. By my calculations, that is 46 weeks shy of an entire year. So, if he wanted to file jointly, he should cough up 46 weeks of child support. That would be the only ethical thing to do. I needed the money to pay off the debt I accrued the 14 months I got no help from him. And he owed it to me anyway. But they didn’t take the offer. They didn’t even reply.
