I've lived in the eastern block. I hear you. For me, I was alone, overseas, had no support system, and he was it. And he didn't leave me to go to work. I WAS WORKING. He was there because I was. He was borrowing my bosses car (I was a nanny) to bring me home. He was leaving to meet up with friends at church. Friends who would never have left their wives after she lost a baby and was in the hospital for days. I hear what you are saying. But the US is not the eastern block. And our ideologies have formed us just like yours had you. You have been incredibly brave. I absolutely honor that in you!
