I love that you are wrestling with this hot topic. However, I wonder if you are not addressing the real issue with cows. It’s not that they are part of the cycle. Of course they are. But the sheer number of them, the sourcing of their feed, the fact that they are on lots, not on grasslands (often), and that their waste is so profuse because of it. The water pollution and damage to lands due to high quantities of acidic and toxic sludge, with copious quantities of E coli are a major problem as well.
I like cows. I just don’t eat them anymore except a little grass-fed here and there. But that is not sustainable either for the almost 8 billion people on the earth.
