I can’t agree more with ALL of this. I actually work outside in my gardens and lawn without shoes on, lay in the shade on the grass to rest, and hike regularly. But every time I venture into public space to hike, I’m with you. It’s hard. And even after a safe interaction I know it’s just a waiting game until I feel a threat from another man.

Accepting the threat is what we must do. However it’s not fair. And it’s just exhausting. But, we have a right to “ touch grass” too. ☺
