Athena is likely one of the first goddesses that you came to know as a child or youth. Looking at her as an archetype of the divine feminine, what significant characteristics does she possess?

She was born out of the top of her father’s head, fully formed and armor-clad. She was the goddess of wisdom and war as well as handicrafts. Athena was known for her skills in strategy at war. Without her wisdom, would Athena have been known for her strategic skillset? I highly doubt it.

So what is so divine or feminine about warfare and wisdom? Handicrafts?…well, we’ll leave that one alone. She was born plated with full armor on and holding a spear. Just lately this has all come full circle for me as to how these come together as a whole, the vital characteristic of the feminine divine for today.

News Alert!! Women are not always passive. Women can be outright aggressive. Temper those aggressive moments with wisdom and what do you have…a mamabear. Just try to take advantage of one of my children. Just try to sell me on something I know (wisdom) is not right for them. You will see warfare. You will also see the mom who knows when and how to reprimand and correct a child. You will see a mother whose child has special needs, demanding the care that child requires. You will see the mother whose child was killed by a drunk driver start an organization call MADD…
